Search Queries
When you enter a name or case number into a search tool displayed on this site, the query is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates the tool. That provider processes the query and returns any results it makes available. Washtenaw County Court Docket does not store or log the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send an email to the site, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, our servers may receive technical details about the visit, including:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any

No Court-Record Data on File
Washtenaw County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case records. It provides general routing information for records held by Washtenaw County Trial Court / Court Services, Probate Court, or the district court of record, as well as the statewide MiCOURT Case Search channel. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or records about third parties.
MCR 8.119 governs public access to Michigan trial-court records, while MCR 8.116 concerns access to court proceedings. Those rules do not make this private site the custodian of a court file. For court material, request access from the court holding the case.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on the site are operated by outside companies. Information submitted through a tool is governed by the provider's privacy policy, not this policy. Those providers set their own retention and sharing practices, which Washtenaw County Court Docket does not control. Review a provider's policy before submitting a query.
Links to Other Websites
The site links to court and clerk pages, trial-court portals, statewide case-search services, and third-party search tools. A visit to an external link is subject to that destination's own privacy policy. Review it before providing personal details.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites to deliver interest-based advertising. That tracking occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information may be disclosed to:
- Search partners that process queries submitted through the site
- Analytics providers that help measure traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place advertising on site pages
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable security practices to protect information collected through the site. No internet-connected system is completely secure, however, and no method can guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If we learn that a minor has provided personal information, we will remove it as appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Michigan court-record access is distinct from visitor-data handling. MCL 15.232 excludes the judiciary and a county clerk acting as clerk of the circuit court from the ordinary FOIA definition, so a court-file request should go to the court of record under its access process, not to this private site. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request a copy of information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to certain processing of your information
